Meet Yolanda Carmona, mother of daughter Jasmine and son Pauli - who is living with Autism. I was blessed to have them HUDDLE-UP for Autism Awareness Month… and after the shoot, I got a chance to ask Yolanda why Autism Awareness Month is important to her… and here is what she had to say.
Autism Awareness Month gives my son and I the opportunity to celebrate his identity with no judgement… only pride. It is beautiful to see the world come together and learn about the struggles and blessings of the spectrum.
It’s important to let the world know that Autism is not something to be ashamed of, or something to keep quiet about… it’s a gift that allows us to see the broad varieties of the human race, and it teaches us to cherish it.
